Helen Rees-Bidder studied English Literature and Education at Homerton College, Cambridge.

She was an English teacher for twenty-seven years in the UK, most recently as a Head of Faculty.

Helen is a highly experienced assessor across a range of specifications. Her current posts include Principal Examiner of IGCSE First Language English and O Level English Language (Singapore), as well as Principal Examiner of GCSE English Language (9-1) and GCSE English Literature (9-1). Helen trains teachers, both in the UK and internationally, taking a range of CPD courses focusing on teaching and learning. She is the author of two books: OCR GCSE English Literature (published by OUP) and ‘Approaches to Learning and Teaching First Language English: a toolkit for international teachers, one of a series of books for teachers published by CUP in close collaboration with Cambridge Assessment International Education.
